Roulette system simulator

With Martingale, starting from 100 on red at a European wheel, you reach 150 in 61% of sessions. That looks like a winning system, but the rest lose their whole 100, and on average a session loses 8.92: 2.7% of the 330.06 it bets. Every system on this page loses the same 2.7%.

Try a system

Every bet goes on red. Amounts are whole multiples of the base bet, and the target is at most ten times the starting money.

Reached 150: 61% (exactly 61%).

Ran out of money for the next bet: 39% (exactly 39%). Stopped at the spin limit: 0%.

Average result of a session: -8.92, over 92 spins on average. A session bets 330.06 on average, and the wheel keeps 2.7% of it.

The largest single bet it needed: 64.

Martingale reaches the target most often because it wins small many times and loses big rarely. Flat betting seldom reaches the target within the spins and bets the most, so it loses the most. In every system, the average result divided by what it bets is the same: the wheel keeps 2.7% of every bet on a European wheel and 5.3% on an American one.

How it is worked out

Red holds 18 of the 37 pockets of a European wheel and 18 of the 38 of an American one, and pays even money. Each session plays spin by spin with the bet the system sets, cut to the table maximum and to the money left, and ends at the target, when the money left cannot cover the next bet, or at the spin limit.

The exact figures do not come from the simulation: they follow every possible bankroll spin by spin, with the exact chance of getting there. The simulation lands close to them, and the same seed always gives the same sessions.
