Irish Lotto numbers: is any line luckier?
No: every Irish Lotto line has exactly the same chance of the jackpot, 1 in 8,145,060. What changes from line to line is how many people you would share a prize with, because many players choose dates and patterns. Check your own line below, or take a random one that avoids them.
Check your line
Type exactly 6 different numbers from 1 to 45.
Every number must be from 1 to 45.
Each number can appear only once.
This line looks like the ones many players choose:
- Every number is 31 or under, like the dates people play: birthdays, anniversaries.
- The numbers rise in equal steps, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.
- Every number is a multiple of 7.
- Every number is even.
- Every number is odd.
- It is a line many people play on purpose, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or the numbers from the TV series Lost.
Its chance is the same as any other line's, 1 in 8,145,060. But if it won a prize that is shared, you would likely share it with more people.
This line falls into none of the popular patterns we check. Its chance is the same as any other line's, 1 in 8,145,060.

Your browser picks it with its secure random generator and picks again if it looks like a popular pattern. Every line that looks like none of them is equally likely to appear here. Nothing is sent anywhere.
When a popular line matters
Irish Lotto prizes are shares of a fund, split equally among the winners of each tier. A popular line that wins is likely to have more co-winners, so a smaller share.
Six numbers from 1 to 45 since the draw of 5 September 2026, when the game went from 47 numbers to 45 and a Monday draw was added. A play costs €2, and a ticket holds at least two plays (€4). 52.15% of sales go to prizes. Match 3 and Match 2 + Bonus pay a fixed €4; every other prize is a share of its tier's fund, split equally by the tier's winners, so the amounts shown are the National Lottery's typical values. The jackpot starts at €2 million and is capped at €16 million; above the cap the money rolls down to the next tier with a winner. Lotto Plus, an optional extra draw, is not included.
No system of numbers changes the chance. Past draws do not affect the next one, and "hot" or "cold" numbers are simply what luck looks like.
