UK Lotto numbers: is any line luckier?
No: every UK Lotto line has exactly the same chance of the jackpot, 1 in 22,528,737. What changes from line to line is how many people you would share a prize with, because many players choose dates and patterns. Check your own line below, or take a random one that avoids them.
Check your line
Type exactly 6 different numbers from 1 to 59.
Every number must be from 1 to 59.
Each number can appear only once.
This line looks like the ones many players choose:
- Every number is 31 or under, like the dates people play: birthdays, anniversaries.
- The numbers rise in equal steps, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.
- Every number is a multiple of 7.
- Every number is even.
- Every number is odd.
- It is a line many people play on purpose, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or the numbers from the TV series Lost.
Its chance is the same as any other line's, 1 in 22,528,737. But if it won a prize that is shared, you would likely share it with more people.
This line falls into none of the popular patterns we check. Its chance is the same as any other line's, 1 in 22,528,737.

When a popular line matters
In UK Lotto it is mainly the jackpot that is shared, so a popular line matters almost only if it wins the jackpot. Then you would likely share it with more people.
Since 7 June 2026 every Lotto draw has two rounds: six numbers and a Bonus Ball are drawn twice, and each play takes part in both, so every chance on this page is the chance in a draw, as The National Lottery prints it. 8.88% of sales go to the jackpot, shared by all its winners in both rounds; Allwyn tops it up so each winner gets at least £1 million. Every other prize is fixed. After five rollovers the jackpot must be won, and if nobody matches six it rolls down to the lower prizes. The Guaranteed Millionaire Raffles that Allwyn runs on some days are not included.
No system of numbers changes the chance. Past draws do not affect the next one, and "hot" or "cold" numbers are simply what luck looks like.
